2009 HONOREE NOMINATIONS

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2009 Grandmother Council Conference, held in Ashland, Oregon. Women elders are honored at the Conference for their outstanding service in supporting the healing and well-being of individuals, the local or global community,
and/or the environment.

The theme for the 2009 conference will be:
"The Renewal of Resilience ~
Deepening Community in Changing Times:
Local Sustainability, Cooperation, and Caring"

The annual Grandmother Council and Community Conference is open to everyone and features a public Council of Women Elders, a broad spectrum of workshops on personal wellness and social and environmental responsibility, and an Honoring Ceremony for “Women of Age and Wisdom”.

A key intention of the conference is seeding and strengthening the coming together of individuals for the betterment and stewardship of our world. This includes a focus on personal growth and co-creativity. The Conference is held in Ashland every April.

Numerous networking, mentoring, and community building opportunities are available, both at the conference and on-line. Volunteers are needed for pre-event coordination (now) as well as for conference staffing. Booth space is available, as is advertising/sponsorhsip in the event program. Financial donations can be designated for conference support or for our scholarship fund.
